ASES

After School Enrichment and Safety

ASES is one of Gault’s after school programs, open to students in 2nd through 5th grade who would strongly benefit from a program focused on homework support, academic intervention, music enrichment, and social skills support. Throughout the week students are supported in homework, and participate in such classes such as music with El Sistema Santa Cruz, reading, P.E., computers, art and community building . A light snack is served at the start of every session. ASES runs every day from the end of the school until 6 pm. Students attending ASES must commit to a minimum of five (5) days and fifteen (15) hours each week.

The ASES staff encourage students to take pride in being part of ASES;making them feel safe, engaged, supported and loved. No matter what they face, academically or otherwise, ASES staff will set aside time to listen and problem-solve. We aspire for the students to do their best. We encourage them to bring the skills they cultivate in ASES back to the core-school day and the rest of their lives. We are dedicated to supporting the changing needs of each child. Families and teachers of ASES students rely on our capacity to be active collaborators in each child’s care.

Sign-up begins at Open House held before the new school year. To sign-up for a current school year, ask the office staff for the necessary paperwork. The program is popular, and generally maintains await list. New students are enrolled according to overall need, not on a  first-come first-serve basis, acceptance is not guaranteed. Additionally, Students on the wait list must re-enroll for the coming year. Students currently enrolled are given priority for re-enrollment.
